  • I never read the manual before I start working on a mobile elevating work platform (MEWP).
  • I think it is a bit over the top to secure yourself when working on a MEWP.
Introduction

A MEWP can be used to work in places that are difficult to access. A MEWP is a mobile lifting device designed to lift people and carry out work.

Risks > What can happen?
  • Unsafe use
  • Improper use

Measures > What must you do?

The user

  • A MEWP may only be used by people who have been properly instructed;
  • The user must have read the manual;
  • The user must know the operating instructions;
  • The user must be 18 years or older;

  • Check the following matters before you start working:
    • Ensure the substrate is firm and level.
    • Look out for obstacles at height: electricity cables, lighting, roof and other kinds of constructions.
